Dr. Susan Daniel, a former Lehigh CHE alum (BS (1999), MS (2001), PhD (2005)) and currently an Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Cornell University, has received a 2012 CAREER award from the US National Science Foundation.
Dr. Daniel received all three degrees in chemical engineering from Lehigh, completing her PhD under the supervision of Professor Manoj Chaudhury, Professor of Chemical Engineering at Lehigh. The five year CAREER award will allow Dr. Daniel and her students to study the function of species that comprise cell membrane microdomains by using novel microfluidic patterned devices for partitioning biomolecules into different membrane phases. The award will also promote the advancement of women in STEM disciplines through professional development.
