Two Lehigh alums, graduating with PhD degrees under the supervision of Professor Mayuresh Kothare, have started tenure track faculty positions this year. Leonidas Bleris (PhD, 2006, EE) began an appointment as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the U. of Texas, Dallas. Details here.
Leyla Ozkan (PhD, 2003, CHE) began her appointment as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Eindhoven. Details here.
Both students pursued interdisciplinary paths in their careers.
Bleris, an Electrical Engineering major, received his PhD in Electrical Engineering at Lehigh under the supervision of Professor Kothare in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Subsequently, Bleris pursued a postdoctoral appointment at Harvard University in Systems and Computational Biology and then joined the EE department at UT Dallas.
Ozkan, a Chemical Engineering major, received her PhD in Chem. Eng. at Lehigh under the joint supervision of Professor Kothare and Professor Christos Georgakis (currently at Tufts U.). She then held various research positions in industry before joining the EE department at Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
